About Leatherwood Books
Leatherwood Books is a family owned business which was started by Jo Heath in Launceston, Tasmania in 2003. The business was transferred to Jo’s sister-in-law, Aly Roberts in 2008, and relocated to Littlehampton in the Adelaide Hills. The girls believe in good books and good service, and the Importance of Reading to Your Children.
Aly and Jo read the books and write about them. When they are not reading books, Aly can be found either teaching in the classroom or covered in paint at art classes for children at Little Picassos Art School. Jo can usually be found pottering in the garden or home educating her children.
Our husbands help look after the technical side, and can often be found making us cups of tea or working on various projects in their sheds
We donate part of our profits to organisations that benefit children who are just as precious, but not so lucky, as ours are. Visit them at www.tear.org.au (TEAR Fund) and www.msf.org.au (Medicin Sans Frontieres).
Our logo features the flowers of Eucryphia lucida, the magnificent Leatherwood Tree, endemic to Tasmania.
